2020 Honda CR-V in RI

Overview

There aren’t many vehicles out there as consistently best-selling as the Honda CR-V. This dependable crossover earns its popularity by being affordable, great on gas, and well-equipped with excellent standard features. For the 2020 model year, Honda has refreshed the CR-V with an updated look, upgraded powertrains, and the addition of Honda Sensing driver-assist technology to the base trim. Early 2020 will also bring the debut of the first-ever hybrid CR-V. On this page, though, we’ll just discuss the conventional gas-only CR-V, which has an autumn release date.

What’s New for 2020?

The 2020 CR-V returns with a bit of a facelift, in the form of a bolder grille, new fog lights, darkened taillights, and dark chrome trim. If you want yours to really stand out, then the new selection of optional colors – Sonic Gray Pearl, Radiant Red Metallic, and Aegean Blue Metallic – will add stylistic flair. You’ll also find more standard equipment on the base LX, which does away with last year’s 2.4-liter engine and gets the 1.5-liter turbo (190 horsepower and 179 pounds-feet of torque) that was previously reserved for the higher trims.

The EX and EX-L grades will be outfitted with newly designed 18-inch wheels, while the Touring’s wheel’s will be an inch larger. In addition, the suite of advanced driving aids known as Honda Sensing (automatic emergency braking, lane-departure warning, adaptive cruise control, blind-spot monitoring, and lane-keeping assist) is now standard on the base LX. Adding to the list of new features is a more spacious center console providing additional small-item storage.

Other Details You Should Know About

While trim-level specific details have yet to be released for the 2020 CR-V, we know that select trims will include wireless smartphone charging, Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, and a 7-inch touchscreen infotainment unit that’s sleeker and more responsive than before. The highest trim level, the Touring, will be outfitted with leather upholstery to provide the utmost comfort and luxury. And if you take a lot of road trips or cart the kids’ sports equipment around, you’ll like the cargo capacity. When the second row is in use there is 75.8 cubic feet of space, and with those seats folded flat, cargo volume opens up to 105.9 cu. ft.

For the best traction through New England’s sometimes-challenging weather, all-wheel drive will be either optional or standard on any given trim, and an available hands-free power liftgate will add convenience. There are also plenty of genuine Honda accessories you can add to help individualize your 2020 CR-V. This includes things like fender emblems, an all-black front grille, gloss-black lower side trim, a black tailgate spoiler, and 19-inch black alloy wheels.
