Trims and Powertrain
The 2020 Honda Civic is available in five trims: LX, Sport, EX, EX-L, and Touring. There’s also a sportier Si version and a hatchback body style, but this page will focus solely on the sedan. Both the LX and the Sport come with a 158 horsepower 2.0-liter four-cylinder engine that’s paired to a choice of transmissions: a six-speed manual or a continuously variable transmission (CVT). The EX, EX-L, and Touring get a turbocharged 1.5-liter four-cylinder engine that makes 174 hp; the CVT is the sole transmission available on these trims.
Comfort and Convenience
The base LX comes with relatively no-nonsense standard equipment, such as power windows, a tilt and telescoping steering wheel, power-adjustable side mirrors, and a rearview camera. Along with its more athletic treatment, including sport pedals and a rear spoiler, the Sport provides some additional amenities: automatic climate control, a 60/40-split fold-down rear seat, push-button ignition, a leather-wrapped steering wheel and shift knob, Smart Entry with Walk Away Auto Lock, and fog lights. The EX gets dual-zone automatic climate control, heated front seats and side mirrors, a power-adjustable driver’s seat, and a sunroof. With the EX-L, an auto-dimming rearview mirror is furnished along with leather-trimmed seats. The Touring is loaded with a top-shelf infotainment system with integrated navigation, heated rear outboard seats, a power-adjustable passenger’s seat, and LED automatic on/off headlights.
Safety and Technology
Each of the 2020 Honda Civic Sedan trims is stocked with the Honda Sensing suite of driver-assist technologies, including collision mitigation braking, road departure warning and mitigation, adaptive cruise control, lane keep assist, and forward collision warning.
The LX starts off with a 5-inch infotainment system touchscreen, Bluetooth connectivity, and a four-speaker audio system. The Sport upgrades to a 7-inch screen, Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, a center console USB port, and an eight-speaker audio system. The EX and EX-L both provide satellite and HD radio, and the top-tier Touring yields integrated navigation with voice recognition and a 10-speaker audio system.
